Individual Curriculum Plan and Testing

In order to identify educational goals and effective educational strategies, Rose Private School LLC designs an Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP) for each student. Goals for reading, writing, and math are identified, as well as materials and strategies used in the classroom to meet those goals. The ICP is reviewed quarterly and revised based on classroom performance, testing results, and parental input. Copies of revised ICP’s will be provided to parents by mail.

Rose Private School, LLC uses the Woodcock Johnson III Tests of Achievement to monitor student progress in reading, math, and fluency. This nationally recognized test is also used by Leon County Schools and Florida State University. Other achievement tests and student work samples, such as paragraph writing and the spelling of commonly used words, may also be used to monitor growth throughout the year. Achievement testing scores do not directly affect the nine-week grades of students or their opportunity for promotion.

Parents are strongly encouraged to review all testing and coordinate with Rose administrators to evaluate progress in attaining short-term and long-term goals. Rose Private School, LLC is glad to provide any documentation of testing and grades to outside sources when requested by the parents. We also request copies of outside testing that could assist in the design of the Individual Curriculum Plan for each student.

Grading System and Report Cards

Rose Private School, LLC uses the following grade scale for all graded assignments and report cards:

A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = 60-69%
F = 0-59%

Students receive report cards quarterly. Students in grades 6-12 are required to take semester exams in each of their core academic classes. Semester averages are calculated by averaging the two grading periods and the semester exam. Students must receive a grade of C or higher on the final exam in order to pass the class for the semester.

Students will also receive a Citizenship grade based on the following: honesty, responsibility, consideration of others, tolerance, self-control, appropriate classroom behavior, and respect for school property and the private property of others.

Citizenship Grading Scale:

4 = Outstanding Conduct 2 = Conduct Needs Improvement
3 = Satisfactory Conduct 1 = Conduct is Unsatisfactory

Personal honor and

academic integrity are essential to a quality education and a healthy academic environment. If it

is determined that a student has been dishonest in any academic manner, the teacher or administrator

may take any or all of the following actions:

-Collect all fraudulent work and record zero credit for all work in question

-Notify the parent.

-Lower the Citizenship grade for the grading period to 1 or 2

-Will go before Disciplinary committee
